OPERATION SOUTHERN BREEZE
(7 January - 17 June 1991)
Technical Department

SOUTHERN BREEZE has been a big challenge for the department : In fact, we started with a period of dry docking (October 1990) in Gent, followed by a period of maintenance and repairs at the shipyard Langerbrugge.
At the first six weeks Southern Breeze, everyone has gone through a hard period of training; at that time there was no time for there was no time for meditation and thoughts. After this period, work has become a routine for most of all. All the technical problems which occurred during the operation has been resolved by the technical department.
The atmosphere which raged in the department was excellent and, a great part of the technicians were volunteers for a second mission in the Persian Gulf.
